This is a brief synopsis of "our" McCauley family roots to as far back as Colonial America.  

The McCauley clan and their brides all hailed from the Northeastern US (primarily Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and West Virginia).  My great-great-great-great (whew) grandfather George McCauley Sr. (1765-1820) and his wife Parthenia Newcombe (1764-1840) of Anne Arundale County MD, begat my great-great-great grandfather George McCauley Jr. (1794-1881),  who with his wife, Juliana Pepper (1806-1896) of Anne Arundale County MD, begat my great-great grandfather Elias Newton McCauley (1836-1905), who with his wife Emily Jane Barrett (1842-1933) of Capon Ridge VA, begat my great-grandfather Charles Edward McCauley (1861-1942), who with his Wife Lillian Estella Heare (1866-1950) of Three Churches WV, begat my grandfather Charles Alva McCauley (1896-1983), who with my grandmother Eleanor Kathleen Kirsch (1896-1983) of Altoona PA, had seven children: Edward Steven McCauley, Mary Margaret McCauley (1922-1923), Michael Joseph McCauley, my father Anthony George McCauley, Joseph Charles McCauley, Marian Regina McCauley, and Kathleen McCauley.  My father married my mother, Maria Margot Röhrig of Großauheim Germany, on 2/29/48  and had 3 children: Patricia Louise, Barbara Ann, and  Mark Joseph.
