Cool Tips & Tricks: YOUR SENSITIVE DATA COULD
BE OPEN TO OTHERS If other people have access to
your computer, you may be exposing your sensitive data to
prying eyes. Internet Explorer saves Web pages that you look at,
including those encrypted. That is likely to include pages
that have personal financial data on them. For instance, if
you buy something on the Internet and use your credit card number, that page is
likely to be encrypted. It may also be saved to your hard drive. This
means, other people who use your computer could access the data in those
encrypted pages. A bad thing. The solution? Tell Internet
Explorer to dump these pages. Click Tools>>Internet Options>>Advanced. Under Security, select "Do not save encrypted pages to disk." Click OK. CONTROLLING INTERNET CONTENT

IS ERROR 404, ANYWAY? If
you're the kind of person who needs more information, not less,

when a page that you want to visit on the Internet cannot be found. You can get
more detailed information on the problem and learn more about those errors. What

EASILY EDIT A WEB ADDRESS Working in Internet Explorer's Address Bar is not easy. Space is tight. And you've got those slashes and dots and things. Keyboard commands can help you navigate the Address Bar if you need to change a URL or web page address: Click to highlight the Address Bar. Click Home to go to the start of the address.
Eliminate the description box on Win95 shortcuts: Right click on shortcut and choose rename. Hold the alt key while typing 0160. Release the alt key. Move the start button on the taskbar: Highlight start by clicking it twice. Press alt and the minus key together and release. Choose move and press the right arrow key to move it. Lose that annoying 'connect to' dialog box. First, make sure you already selected 'save and reuse password automatically' in that 'connect to' dialog box. Then from inside Dial Up Networking's Connection menu, choose 'Settings' and clear the box that says "Prompt for information before dialing". Use the Windows95 Update Information Tool to see a list of the updates installed on your system. It's installed in your Windows folder along with the upgrades and is called Qfecheck.exe.
